The concept for Art of Expression
The concept for this series started in October of 2020 when I first moved to Atlanta, GA. I knew I wanted to create another photo series after finishing my first, Art of the Feminine. However, I still had the question of exactly what it would be about, and who were going to be my subjects in a city I just moved to? Before I could really go into depth with the previz for the series, I really needed to hammer out what it was I wanted it to convey. After some consideration and reflecting on how I felt about my first series, I knew I wanted to dig deeper into how we as humans expressed ourselves. As an artist, I communicate through creating and in turn, a huge part of myself is laid out for everyone to see and to interrupt how they see fit. However, how does the way others express themselves translate into the world and how is this interrupted? Do we really spend enough time connecting to others to find out? Did I spend enough time doing this? And with that, I knew what I was going to explore in my next series, Art of Expression. The next steps were figuring out who the subjects would be and where would I shoot the series? Look for upcoming posts for more details on how I created the series!
