Turquoise!

After spending a day rolling in the grass and being eaten by mosquitos for the color blue, it was time to start prepping for my shoot with Ashley, who was turquoise. During the initial questionnaire on how the subject connected to the color, Ashley had mentioned being drawn to it’s positivity and it’s connection to water. So, I really wanted to play into using the element of water and the flow of energy for this shoot. You can see my mood board for this color below.

I had found this wonderful location that was being renovated and used it to my advantage for my first setups. There was also a piano that was already in the room! I started by taking down all the elements I didn’t like, such as the blue painters tape around the doors.

I had a friend help me lay out tulle and vines coming from the piano to create this look off water and energy flowing around my subject. After this was complete, it was time to start shooting! I honestly probably laid on every corner of this floor to get these shots!

There was this wall that had been striped down to its studs, which is a photographers dream! Well, at least my dream as a photographer. I loved using a 35mm to shoot through them in order to create more dynamic shots. Below you can see me actually using the wall to balance off of to get a shot! Don’t worry, there’s a ladder on the other side of the wall that is bracing me!

After we finished shooting inside, it was time to move outside to the pool! I grabbed the ladder, all of the tulle and the haze machine and headed to the pool. I also had to get into my swimsuit because I already knew I would have to get into the water for some of these shots.

Thankfully the water was a really great tempature and I was able to get some really great shots!
